Project - OBO Helmet

This Client approached Idea wanting a youth sports helmet compliant with CE safety standards and to establish a manufacturing supply chain.
As established World leading brand in field hockey goalkeeping equipment, this helmet needed to fit within the style of their brand, which was described as passive/aggressive; the fit and feel should be organically passive but needed to be aggressive enough to intimidate the opposition.
Through extensive clay models and sculpturing Idea produced a comfortable, lightweight helmet, with a excellent sight of vision. Once this look was approved, ball impact safety testing was conducted, with revisions until it both retained the approved look and complied with the CE safety standards. On completion Idea produced production tools, quality control specification and facilitated CE approval ready for Client handover.
